Valentines Day is marketed around the sweetest things in life - love, romance & chocolate. Lots of chocolate.
So what do you do when you are working hard towards your body goals and don't want to blow all your hard work for one holiday? Well guess what? You & your significant other can show affection for each other in ways without sweets. Check out some of the gift ideas below; 1. Self Care Pack - put together all their favourite goodies to look after their bods on the outside. Include bath bombs, body scrub or lotion, moisturiser, face masks, nail scissors etc. These can totally be personalised to both male or female, depending on how they like to relax or their self care routine. 2. A plant - Head to your local garden store and pick out a cute plant for you to plant together. Maybe the start of your very own vege patch, or a little tree for your first house together, or maybe just a succulent to put in your bathroom. You can add your own personal touch by including little popsicle sticks, or painted rocks, with sweet words written on them. 3. Homemade Dinner - There is something so romantic about cooking for another person and I think it's because so much thought & time & effort goes into it. Plan a menu, maybe of all their favourite things, and spend some time in the kitchen. They will appreciate it - I promise! 4. Spend Time in Nature - Get out in the great outdoors together and do something to get your heart pumping! Maybe you could go for a walk or bike ride along the coast line or around a lake, play a round of golf or a game of tennis, hike a trail or hire a two person kayak. There are plenty of fun, fit activities out there to spend your day doing with your loved one! 5. Massages - Nothing says I love you like relaxation! Whether you book a couples massage at a day spa or light some candles & spoil them with strawberries, champagne & you giving them a massage, they will be immensely grateful! 6. Cork board or Empty photo Frame - This may seem like an odd thing to gift someone but it has a sweet meaning behind it! Use this empty frame or cork board to fill with tickets, photos & trinkets of adventures you take together. This could be coasters from restaurant you visit, score cards from mini golf, tickets from concerts or shows, lolly wrappers from the cinema or bottle caps from a wine tour. Whatever holds meaning from a special moment to you. 7. Breakfast in Bed - Who doesn't love waking up to the smell of freshly cooked toast wafting through the house. It could be as simple as avo toast or something a little more fancy like a smoothie bowl, its totally up to you. 8. Board Games - Sometimes its fun & relaxing to have a night in so grab fun board games for two! You're set for a cosy night of giggles & gentle competition. Maybe even buy a cheeky bottle of wine to share between you. 9. Picnic - Pack up some of your favourite tasty, healthy snacks & find a little slice of space for a relaxed lovers picnic. Spread out on the grass in the sunshine, or bundle up in the back of your car looking at the stars to enjoy the food & more importantly each others company. 10. Tea and Books - Maybe what appeals to your partner is a lazy morning in bed with a warm pot of tea & a good book! Sounds like heaven to me! Buy them a book they have been meaning to read for ages, or the newest book by their favourite author! Or maybe take a trip to your local library and choose something out! How did you spend your Valentines Day? Happy Loving, Holly XO
